Inauguration of the Fourth Mobile Urgent Care Unit for Remote Areas of Rural Sindh
Karachi (Staff Reporter): The fourth Mobile Urgent Care (MUC) unit has been inaugurated to provide basic healthcare services to disaster-affected and underprivileged communities in rural Sindh.
The state-of-the-art 20-foot clinic-on-wheels has been developed with the support of AKD Group and Shine Humanity. The inauguration ceremony was held at the residence of Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Chairman of AKD Group.
Shine Humanity’s Mobile Urgent Care Units have served as a cornerstone of the organization’s emergency response and rural healthcare strategy since the devastating floods of 2022. Designed to reach hard-to-access areas and deliver immediate medical assistance, these mobile clinics represent a practical commitment to serving communities that are often deprived of basic facilities.
The mobile units are staffed with certified doctors, trained medical personnel, essential medicines, and diagnostic equipment, enabling them to provide prompt and effective healthcare services directly at the community’s doorstep.
The newly launched unit will travel across the districts of Badin District, Sujawal District, and Tharparkar District, delivering urgent medical care to communities where healthcare facilities are extremely limited or nonexistent.
Over the past year, Shine’s existing Mobile Urgent Care Units have provided basic medical services to more than 23,000 individuals in rural Sindh, including the areas of Gharo, Sujawal, Thatta, Mirpur Sakro, and Makli.
On this occasion, Faheem Khan, CEO of Shine Humanity, stated that through this new Mobile Urgent Care Unit, they are extending healthcare services beyond cities and paved roads, directly reaching the communities that need them the most.
Aqeel Karim Dhedhi expressed hope and prayers for the initiative’s success and continued growth, adding that they seek guidance from Allah at every step so that this effort proves beneficial for the community.
