Karachi, Pakistan — June 10, 2026 , Bank Alfalah, one of the leading commercial banks in Pakistan, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BARD Foundation to support the development of the BARD Squash Complex, a landmark initiative aimed at contributing to the revival and advancement of squash in Pakistan, to encourage youth development, and create a world-class facility capable of nurturing future national and international champions.
Under the partnership, Bank Alfalah will provide sponsorship support of PKR 50 million, plus applicable taxes, towards the development of the squash complex. The facility is envisioned as a modern sporting hub that will host tournaments, deliver structured training programmes, and support community engagement initiatives designed to expand access to the sport and strengthen Pakistan’s squash ecosystem. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by both organisations to promote sports development, empower young athletes, and create pathways for sporting excellence.
Atif Bajwa, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bank Alfalah, said: “Pakistan’s squash heritage is a source of immense national pride, and we believe the future of the sport depends on sustained investment in infrastructure and youth development. Through this partnership with BARD Foundation, we are supporting a platform that can help identify, train, and inspire the next generation of athletes while creating opportunities for wider community participation in sport.”
For decades, Pakistan stood at the pinnacle of international squash, producing some of the sport’s most celebrated champions. As efforts continue across the country to rebuild that legacy, the development of dedicated training infrastructure has emerged as a critical priority. The BARD Squash Complex seeks to address this need by providing athletes with access to modern facilities, competitive opportunities, and professional coaching environments.
As part of the sponsorship arrangement, Bank Alfalah will receive exclusive naming rights to the facility’s All-Glass Championship Court, along with prominent branding and signage across the complex. The bank’s logo will also feature on designated court surfaces, tournament-related materials, and broadcast coverage where applicable. Additional benefits include VIP lifetime memberships, priority booking access for Bank Alfalah employees, and recognition across launch events and promotional campaigns associated with the project.
“The BARD Squash Complex has been conceived as a long-term investment in Pakistan’s sporting future and in the young people who will shape it. We are pleased to partner with Bank Alfalah in bringing this vision to life and creating a facility that can serve athletes, communities, and the broader development of squash for years to come,” said xxx, abc, BARD Foundation.
